NET Trans (Northeast Tennessee Rural Public Transit) provides safe, timely and reliable transportation for everyone wherever you need to go, whenever you need to go.
Our service area includes Carter, Greene, Johnson, Hawkins, Sullivan, Washington and Unicoi Counties
(with exception if your origin and destination are in Kingsport, Johnson City or Bristol, TN areas as public transportation is available).
Our NET Trans drivers go through extensive training to ensure your safety. We are committed to providing you with quality and affordable transportation. We understand that for many people, finding dependable transportation can be difficult and NET Trans makes it simple. Whether you need a ride to a doctor’s appointment or to visit friends or a trip to the grocery store, we are here for you.
To schedule a ride, please call 423.461.8233 or toll free 1.800.528.7776, by 12:00 pm (noon) the day before you need a ride and we will schedule your ride. The day you need a ride, our vans will come and pick you up and take you where you need to go. Many of our vans are equipped with wheelchair lifts to serve our customers with disabilities.

NET Trans service operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., limited services on Saturdays, and extended hours of services through contracts and special request when resources are available. NET Trans vehicles do not operate on Sundays, New Year’s Day, MLK Holiday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. Our office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The First TN Human Resource Agency’s rural public transportation program, NET Trans, began operation in 1980 under Section 5311 of the Federal Transit Act of 1964 and the Tennessee Department of Transportation, Office of Public Transportation; along with local government contributions, contract and fare revenue. This program is for the provision of transportation services in non-urban areas.
